Μαθηματα

Στόχος

Στόχος του προγράμματος είναι η παροχή ειδικευμένων γνώσεων μεταπτυχιακού επιπέδου στον τομέα των τηλεπικοινωνιών και τη μεταφορά δεδομένων (δίκτυα Η/Υ κτλ) που ανταποκρίνονται στις ανάγκες απασχόλησης στην υποστήριξη και διαχείριση δικτύων Η/Υ καθώς και τις αντίστοιχες εφαρμογές τους.

Το πρόγραμμα είναι διάρκειας τριών εξαμήνων και γίνονται δεκτοί πτυχιούχοι ΑΕΙ (Πανεπιστήμια και ΤΕΙ) Τεχνικής ή Θετικής κατεύθυνσης, παρεμφερούς ειδικότητας. Τα μαθήματα πραγματοποιούνται κάθε Παρασκευή απόγευμα και Σάββατο πρωί

Το πρόγραμμα προσφέρεται στην Αγγλική γλώσσα και περιλαμβάνει την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση 4 Μαθημάτων και την εκπόνηση Διπλωματικής Εργασίας.

Data Communications

The aims of this module are to provide students with:

  • A basic understanding of computer networks the Internet and IP
  • A sound understanding of the physical layer
  • A comprehension of digital transmission and modulations
Multimedia Communications

The aims of this module are to provide students with:

  • An in-depth understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) parameters and mechanism applied to IP networks
  • An in-depth understanding of source coding applied to voice, audio, image and video compression
  • An in-depth understanding of multimedia transmission systems and networks
  • Experience of managing multimedia data and relevant transmission aspects through different software and hardware tools for their system design and deployment, as well as performance estimation, evaluation and measurement
  • An in-depth understanding of advanced multimedia systems, standards, and system architectures
Network and Information Security

The aims of this module are to provide students with:

  • To provide students with knowledge of the fundamental principles and techniques employed in securing information as well as both cabled and wireless networks.
  • To allow students to assess the security risks inherent in computer networks and the steps that can be taken to counter such risks.
  • To create an awareness for students of legal, ethical and professional issues in security.
Wireless Communications and Networks

The aims of this module are to provide students with:

  • An appreciation of a wide range of wireless communication systems and networks
  • A comprehension of the propagation characteristics of wireless channels
  • An understanding of digital modulated transmission and of channel coding for wireless systems
  • An understanding of multiplexing and multiple access techniques used for wireless networking
  • The tools for system design and deployment, as well as performance estimation, evaluation and measurement for wireless networks
  • An in-depth understanding of advanced technologies, standards’ update, system architecture and performance characteristics, in particular for All-IP networks WLANs, cellular / broadband wireless systems and wireless sensor networks, as well as relevant legal and regulatory aspects.
